Despite
Downturn in Polls for President Bush,
He Still Has Christian Support
By Jonathan
Brown
While polls show the rest of the country abandoning George W. Bush,
under the apparent impression that he caused Hurricane Katrina and posted
CIA agent Valerie Plame's address and phone number on the internet,
true Christians continue to support our great President. Christian loyalty
has baffled many pundits in the pagan liberal press, but if they'd read
their bible they would understand:
Luke 10:23: He
that is not with me is against me.
The President has said frequently that he is a uniter, not a divider,
and he has tried valiantly to unite the U.S. But, despite the September
11th attacks on our country, some have refused to unite behind him.
Unlike some of his godless predecessors who pretended to represent all
so-called American citizens, the President, following the letter of
the good book, has made no secret of the fact that these obstructionists
are America's enemies.
Romans 12:16: Be
of the same mind one toward another.
The President is often criticized for surrounding himself with a narrow
team of like-minded advisors and for firing traitors like Richard Clarke
and Paul O'Neill who question the wisdom of his policies. All I can
say to those who criticize this Presidential trait is: Read your bible!
Ecclesiastes 12:12:
Much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Critics carp that the President and his advisors didn't plan well for
the Iraq war. Our government should have gained a better understanding
of the Iraqi people, they whine, should have armed our soldiers better
and provided them with better armor. Blah, blah, blah. That sort of
micromanagement is for policy wonks like sex-criminal Bill Clinton.
The President heeds the Bible's warning about study; he relies on his
instincts and does what he knows to be right.
Ecclesiastes 9:10:
Forsake not an old friend; for the new is not comparable to him.
Liberals are screaming for the President to fire political consultant
Karl Rove, because he may have been involved in Valerie Plame's recent
Vanity Fair photo shoot, and Donald Rumsfeld for some minor mistakes
he may have made in Iraq. The President and the Bible stand firmly on
the side of loyalty.
Deuteronomy 28:5:
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
The tax breaks that form the centerpiece of the President's domestic
agenda here get a 100% ringing endorsement from the Lord. Our basket
and our store are blessed. Clearly the government has no business reducing
the size of our blessings.
And let us not forget the words of Isaiah 3:15: grind the faces of the
poor.
Ecclesiastes 1:18:
In much wisdom is much grief; and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth
sorrow.
'Nuff said.
